21.2. Bookkeeping

Important

See Piazza @57 to setup a Figma account if you have not done so already.

21.3. Activity

21.3.1. Breakout Groups

Important

RANDOMIZE: Please move around to different tables and form a random group for this activity.

  1. Quickly introduce yourselves to each other, if you don’t already know each other.

  2. Pick a group representative. This person will be responsible for posting your breakout group’s response on Piazza before breakout group work ends for this activity.

  3. Help your group representative respond to the following in a followup discussion to Piazza @69.

    1. List the names of your breakout group members using bullet points.

    2. For each group member, add the following sub-bullet points related to the prototype they created for the previous DDQ:

      • app Name; and

      • public “share” link.

      Important

      If a group member did not create a prototype for the previous DDQ, then simply include “Missing Prototype” in their sub-bullet point. If nobody in the group created a prototype for the prvious DDQ, then group members should leave this group and join groups with students who participated.

    3. For each group member that created a prototype, look at and discuss, as a group, that member’s prototype, then add some more sub-bullet points under their name, answering the questions below:

      • What is good or interesting about this member’s prototype?

      • What constructive suggestions does the group have for this member’s prototype?

      Important

      At this point, everyone in the group has had some experience working with Figma. Be descriptive in your responses. Let’s try and share what has been learned.

    4. Pick a prototype to improve, then have that group member create a copy/duplicate of it in Figma and share access to it with the group. As a group, make improvements to the prototype, then include the following infotmation under your list of names:

      • app name;

      • screenshot of the prototype’s associated mockup;

      • protoype’s public “share” link; and

      • list of improvements (descriptive).

    1. Look at and reply to the posts that other groups made.

21.3.2. After Breakout Groups

Duration: TBD

  1. Look at some of the Piazza posts as a class.

21.3.3. After Class

  1. Before 11:55PM today, individually comment on another group’s post by replying to their followup discussion in Piazza @69.

    Comments

    Please keep the comments polite and constructive. In addition to whatever else you want to write, please comment on one aspect of a group’s post that you like and one aspect that you think needs improvement (e.g., you find that something is unclear or you don’t understand a justification). As always, be sure to provide a brief justification for each.

  2. Continue reading the Design module, and make sure you’re aware of current assignments and their due dates.

  3. Extra Practice: Consider reproducing an app you use every day as a mockup in Adobe XD or Figma.
