ScalaTion is moving along nicely. We've migrated the project over to Google Code and we've begun work on adding new functionality to the language. My personal contributions include rewriting the Build.scala script so that it's platform-independent and so that it generates the ScalaDoc for the entire project. So far, all is well.
I've finally started work on ScalaTion, Dr. Miller's simulation system written in Scala. My first task is to rewrite the build scripts (written in Scala) so that they're platform-independent. Since Scala works very well with the java.io package, it's been relatively easy to modify the platform-dependent file operations over to Scala. However, the compilation routines are proving to be a little more complicated. I need to invoke the new Scala compiler (included in scala.tools.nsc), but the lack of good documentation on the package is creating a few headaches. I'll keep you guys posted on any new developments after this week's research meeting.
